KAZAKHMYS PLС  (United Kingdom) announces H1 and Q2 2010 production resultsThe production report of Kazahkmys PLC for the six months and the second quarter ended on June 30, 2010

Output of cathode copper ahead of the plan – reached 164.3 th tones

– Production indices are stable at all production stages

– Mining of ore and its content comply with the plan

– Coefficients of metal extraction are stable

– Positive affect acquired due to cut down on unfinished works

In H1 Y2009 positive dynamics in output of concurrent production

– Zink concentrate output reached 80.9 th tones, exceeding the plan, thanks greater content of ore and metal extraction coefficient

– Volume of produced gold in ore doubled as compared with H1 2009, thanks to Abyz output

– Metal processing terms affected production of gold in the volume of 62.4 th ounces

– Silver production in the volume of 6,697 th ounces at the level allowing for reaching the annual planned indicator

Kazakhmys Power

– Output of electrical energy in H1 2010 increased 43 % as compared with output in H1 2009 having reached 5,373 GWh

– Selling tariff reached 4.56 tenge/kWh in H1 2010 against 2.84 tenge/kWh in H1 2009

CEO Oleg Novachuk commented: “We reached positive results in the first half of the year. Mining, processing and smelting of metal comply with planned indicators, and in some cases exceeding those. We are confident we can produce at least 300 th tones of cathode copper by the end of the year. The market is stable and we aim to support the stability of production”.
