GOVERNMENT Weekly Review. Grain harvest to make about 15mln tons in KazakhstanСеверо-Казахстанская область ASTANA. July 9. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ The main events of this week have been mostly connected with the celebration of the Day of the Capital of Kazakhstan. In this context Astana hosted the sitting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council. A number of important documents was signed during the sitting.

This week Prime Minister Karim Massimov made working trips to Akmola, North Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions.

In Akmola region Mr. Massimov visited a number of industrial facilities, Kokshetau blood center, surveyed the water supply system of the industrial zone in Stepnogorsk town and took part in the presentation of the central fire station in Shchuchinsk town.

At the meeting with the regional authorities he noted that the Government considered the drinking water issues as top priority. In this context K. Massimov charged the Ministry of Finance to allocate funds for this sector. Karim Massimov charged Governor of Akmola region Sergey Dyachenko to pay more attention to expenditures in Shchuchinsk – Borovoye resort area.

“Under the instructions of the President the Government makes great contribution to the development of Burabay region. Governors of the region must pay special attention to rational use of the budget resources”, K.Massimov said.   

At a Wednesday sitting in the akimat (administration) of Akmola oblast Mr. Massimov urged the Minister of Oil and Gas to develop a policy in the field of liquefied gas.

Good news for the residents of Kokshetau became the Prime Minister’s announcement on production of field hospitals in their town. “We have decided to make field hospitals on the basis of KAMAZ-Engineering. It means new production, increase of jobs, taxes”, K. Massimov said.

Mobile medical units will operate in remote villages. According to the Prime Minister, the country needs approximately 50 such field hospitals.

Upon arrival in North Kazakhstan region on Thursday the Prime Minister headed to Basko LLP meat-processing plant in Tayinsha district. The Head of the Government surveyed the enterprise, met with its staff to discuss compliance of the domestic meat products with the international quality standards, the prospects of export of agricultural products to the Russian market and pricing policy.

As for the sphere of agriculture the Premier noted that the Government of Kazakhstan would allocate funds for transportation of the last year grain from grain elevators in North Kazakhstan region to western regions of Kazakhstan.

He also visited Petropavlovsk Municipal Hospital No2, ‘Akbota’ kindergarten, SevKazEnergo LLP, Petropavlovsk Building Materials Plant LLP. The Prime Minister said that during his visit to the region the progress of implementation of a number of state programs was considered, including the industrial program, the Road Map, Salauatty Kazakhstan and Balapan programs. The issues of developing agriculture and housing and utilities infrastructure were discussed as well. “I am satisfied with the results. All the instructions of the Head of the State, Government, Akim of the region and corresponding bodies are being realized”, K. Massimov noted.

Besides, Karim Massimov urged Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev to consider the issue regarding the building of a gas pipeline in North Kazakhstan region.

On Friday Prime Minister Karim Massimov visited “Kairak” border control post and got acquainted with the work of customs, border and tax administrations within the Customs Union during his working trip to Kostanay region.

“It is necessary to pay special attention to propaganda of a healthy lifestyle among the population”, the Kazakh Premier said while visiting a maternity hospital of the city of Kostanay.

The Premier met with the heads of the regional hospitals. The issues of the quality of medical services, training specialists and a draft program of healthcare “Salauatty Kazakhstan” were discussed.

In accordance with the President’s instruction, the Government of Kazakhstan will allocate necessary funds for revival of Arkalyk town in Kostanay region. Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov made it public at a briefing in Arkalyk. Akim of the region suggested implementing a program on Arkalyk revival, thus creating new jobs and productions.

On Tuesday, July 6, the 51st International Mathematical Olympiad was opened in Astana. Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev read out welcoming statement of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to its participants.

“For the first time this youth scientific forum, which gathered representatives of over 100 countries, is held in Kazakhstan. We see deep meaning in selection of Astana as a venue. First of all, it is great honor for our country”, the statement reads.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev called holding the 51st International Mathematical Olympiad in Astana a gift to the Day of Astana.

On Wednesday Vice Minister of Agriculture Arman Yevniyev said at a press conference that this year Kazakhstan expected to get 14.5-15.5 mln tons of crop.

“Unfortunately, this year we will not gather the same amount of grain as it was in 2009. We forecast to get 14.5-15.5 mln tons of harvest”, A. Yevniyev added.
