WEEKLY REVIEW: K.Massimov - 2010 budget revenues to be increased for realization of regional programsThe Government reported to the Parliament on execution of the national budget for 2009 last week. As Minister of Finance Bolat Zhamishev said at the joint session of the Parliament, all liabilities of “Nur Otan” Party, all instructions of the President regarding the social sphere were executed.

The Prime Minister Karim Massimo noted at the session that export duties for a range of primary products would be refunded.

First Vice Premier Umirzak Shukeyev informed on the decision of the Government to allocate KZT 10 bln for subsidizing of the grain shipment to Asian countries.

Minister of Finances Bolat Zhamishev said that GDP growth in Kazakhstan in the current year will be at 4%. Along with this, Zhamishev forecasts increase in budget revenues by KZT 50 bln without consideration of possible introduction of export customs duties on primary goods.

Later in the day Prime Minister Karim Massimov held a session of the Single Coordinating Council on the issues of entrepreneurship under the Government of Kazakhstan. The members of the Council discussed the process of implementation of “Road Business Map – 2020” program. Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zhanar Aitzhanova said that second tier banks considered 452 claims of manufacturers for subsidizing loans to the amount of KZT 194 bln.

K.Massimov got acquainted with the process of construction of the complex of educational, scientific and administrative buildings of the New University of Astana, “Khan Shatyry” Entertainment Center and new “Hazrat Sultan” Mosque.       

Later in the day Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov held a regular meeting of the State Commission on Economy Modernization.

The participants of the session discussed the sectoral program on development of pharmaceutical industry for 2010-2014 and the issues of the realization of investment projects in the sphere of energy, metallurgy, pharmaceutics, agricultural chemistry and petro chemistry.

On Thursday, June 24 the Prime Minister visited Parasat National Scientific and Technological Holding. He charged the leadership of the Holding to activate interaction with the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies.

“The objectives set to the Holding are fulfilled, in whole. Alongside, the directions of work must comply with the tasks the country faces today”, the Head of the Government noted.

According to K. Massimov, the scientific projects “must coincide with the programs implemented in Kazakhstan”.

Besides, K.Massimov said that Kazakhstani scientists should take part in solution of problems of drinking water provision for population. He charged the leadership of the Holding to coordinate this work with corresponding Ministries. Besides, the Holding must study the issues of provision of water independence from the neighboring states. The Premier promised that scientific work on this direction would be financed.     

Kazakh Ambassador to Austria Yerzhan Kazykhanov met with Vice Chancellor of Austria, chairman of the Austrian People’s Party Josef Proll Thursday. The Vice Chancellor noted that the Agreement on promotion and protection of investments signed in January this year and increasing activity of a range of Austrian companies at the Kazakh market opned new page in further strengthening of business, economic and interregional contacts between Kazakhstan and Austria.
