Shopping centre in Almaty/Kazakhstan opened under german management

The shopping and entertainment centre Prime Plaza opened their doors under the management of Olaf M. Warzecha last weekend. More than 70,000 visitors enjoyed their stay of the almost 20,000 sqm shopping mall in Almaty, which is with more than 1.5 million citizens the largest city of kasakhstan and former capital.
Prime Plaza is located in Aksay, the northern part of Almaty. Along the center are located the most frequented highways of Almaty with more than 100.000 cars daily. Especially for those costumers the center is offering more than 1.000 parking places free of charge.
As main anchor tenants in the more than 60 shops counting centre is located the local supermarket chain “SM Market”, the technical market “Technodom” and the russian cinema concept “Star Cinema”, with his new type “Star Games”, which is an integrated cinema and entertainment concept with more than 3,000 sqm. Till the end of the year Olaf Warzecha is planning to fill the mall totally as now the leasing rate is more than 80%. And the fact, that near of Prime Plaza will open soon the first Cash & Carry market of Metro in Almaty, will for sure generate again more traffic for the area of the centre.
Since july 2009 Warzecha is working already for the project Prime Plaza. For the positioning of the centre he has a strong and active plan of marketing and activities. Especially for all the young families which are living around the centre. The catchment area is calculated with more than 400.000 citizens, living in the 10 minutes area.
Warzecha is handling next to his position as managing director of the existing Prime Plaza also the development of new retail project in the region of Almaty. Before Olaf M. Warzecha worked more than 3 years as “head of centermanagement” of SEC Hamburg for the russian market. There he opened in May 2009 in Moscow the shopping mall “Filion” with more than 60,000 sqm.
