Monument to Kazakh President to be erected in AnkaraPresident of Turkey Abdullah Gul has visited an international Kazakh-Turkish lyceum ‘Nur-Orda’ after the international exhibition of weapons and military equipment KADEX-2010.

‘In respect of what the Kazakh President has done for all Turkic nations we are planning to erect a monument to Nursultan Nazarbayev in Ankara’, A. Gul said addressing the students and faculty of the lyceum.

Many interesting ideas expressed at III Congress of Turkic-speaking countries – TURKSOI Sec-Gen

Many interesting ideas were expressed during the III Qurultay (Congress) of Turkic-speaking countries on architecture and town-planning. TURKSOI Secretary General Dyussen Kasseinov has said at a closing ceremony of the Qurultay at the Palace of Independence in Astana.

“During these two days we have heard a number of interesting ideas and serious projects on historical and modern research”, he noted. According to him, participation of the Kazakh and Turkish presidents in the Qurultay marked special significance of the event.

TURKSOI is an international organization for joint development of Turkic culture and arts. It was founded on the basis of the treaty signed by the culture ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan on July 12, 1993 in Almaty. Later the republics of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Khakassia, Tyva, Altay, Sakha-Yakutia as parts of the Russian Federation and Gagauz Yeri, the autonomous region of the Republic of Moldova joined the Treaty on TURKSOI as observers.

IV Qurultay of Turkic-speaking countries on architecture and town planning to be held in Istanbul

“The nest International Qurultay of Turkic-speaking countries on architecture and town planning will be held in Istanbul”, the Final Declaration of the 3rd Qurultay of Turkic-speaking countries on architecture and town planning reads.

Appreciations and best wishes to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Turkish President Abdullah Gul for participation in the Qurultay are expressed in the Declaration as well.

The delegates of the Qurultay suggested defining facilities of common cultural heritage of the Turkic World, publishing corresponding albums and catalogues, establishing a prize named after outstanding Turkish architect Mimar Sinan for achievements in architecture and town planning.
