Nazarbayev congratulates veterans on Victory DayToday Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated veterans of Kazakhstan on the Victory Day at the ceremony of awarding state prizes in Akorda.

The Head of the State noted that in connection with his participation in a military parade in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Victory in Moscow he would not be able to mark this holiday in Kazakhstan. “Hence I apologize that I will not be able to celebrate this day with you”, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

As the President noted, the Victory in the Great Patriotic War came to us by suffering, victims, losses and we hold the memory of the fallen.

“There is a profound bow to all of is – veterans, front-line soldiers, workers on the home front, participants of the guerilla movement, and those who withstood hardships of undeserved repressions, deportations and revived the country after the terrible war. Your exploit, our dear veterans, remains a model of unprecedented courage, fortitude, dedication, inflexible will and vitality for all future generations. Please accept my warmest congratulations on the occasion of the Victory Day”, the Head of the State said.

We children of winning fathers: N.Nazarbayev

“We are children of winning fathers”, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said today at the ceremony of awarding state prizes in Akorda.

The Head of the State noted that today all cities, towns and villages of Kazakhstan honor veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The President also informed that he will take part in the Moscow military parade on May 9 on the invitation of the Russian Government.

The President stressed that the act of bravery of the older generation will never be forgotten.

Besides, N.Nazarbayev appealed veterans to foster patriotism of our younger generation by telling stories about their bravery.   

“We want to see you at the 70th and 75th anniversaries of the Great Victory. The spirit you have is able to overcome such difficulties”, N.Nazarbayev said.

356 people granted state awards by Presidential Decree


By the President’s Decree 356 people were granted state awards on the threshold of the 65th anniversary of Great Victory and the Day of Motherland Defenders.

As earlier reported, today Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has handed out state awards to the veterans of War, rear workers, military servicemen and representatives of law-enforcement bodies.

According to the Presidential press service, II Degree Dank order was given to one person; II Degree Aibyn Order  was given to 12 people and III Degree Aibyn Order – to three people. II Degree Dostyk Order was awarded to one person, Kurmet Order  – to 100 people, Erligi ushin medal – to 10, Zhauyngerlik Erligi ushin medal – to 10, Eren Enbegi ushin medal – to 65 and Shapagat medal – to two people. 143 people received certificates of honor of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Upon completion of the ceremony N. Nazarbayev congratulated all awardees on the holiday and wished them health, happiness and well-being.

President hands over keys to apartments and anniversary medals to war veterans

President Nursultan Nazarbayev has handed over keys to apartments in Astana and anniversary medals dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory to 16 veterans of war.

“You bore the brunt of all these hardships, then continued to work, build Kazakhstan and made an enormous contribution to development of the state”, N.Nazarbayev said.

“You are the generation which saw that system of life, got through the war and survived, saw independent Kazakhstan and now reap the benefit of attention of your children”, the President added.
