Kazakh-American coop in military personnel training discussed

Kazakh Minister of Defense Adilbek Dzhaksybekov has met with Commander of the U.S. Central Command, General David Petraeus today, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Ministry.
Prospects of bilateral cooperation in military personnel training, development of the system of military education and other spheres within the Five-Year Cooperation Plan signed between the sides were discussed at the meeting.
The sides discussed the issues of training of the Kazakh military men in the military educational institutions and specialized training centers of the Armed Forces of the USA.
Totally over USD 10 mln were allocated within the programs of military education, over 360 military men were sent to training.
A wide range of military and technical programs on supply of military equipment and special armament were realized. In accordance with the Plans of military contacts between the Defense Ministries of the USA and Kazakhstan for 2010, conduction of several activities, including annual “Steppe Eagle” International Tactical Exercises is scheduled.
A.Dzhaksybekov noted after the meeting that the USA and Kazakhstan pursue the same aim – strengthening of interaction between Kazakhstan and the United States by continuation of dialogue and extension of military cooperation.
