Kazatomprom plans to produce 23 000 tons of uranium in 2018
Astana. December 22. KazTAG – Kazatomprom plans to get 46 bn tenge operational profit in 2017, said Galymzhan Pirmatov, chairman of the national company.
“The company expects to get 46 bn tenge operational profit by the results of 2017. According to the concluded memorandums 4.8 bn tenge have been transferred in the budgets of the South Kazakhstan and Kyzylorda regions in the latest years. 1 bn tenge have been transferred in the budget of the East Kazakhstan region,” he said at the briefing.
Within the frameworks of subsoil use contracts more than 1 bn tenge are annually transferred for socio-economic development of the region. This year the company completed construction of a kindergarten in Astana for 240 children,” he added.
The company reminded its plan to lower the production volume by 20% of the contracted volumes within next three years.
Kazatomprom national atomic company plans to produce 23 000 tons of uranium in 2018, said Galymzhan Pirmatov, chairman of the national company.
“Our companies have subsoil use contracts, on the base of these contracts uranium is being produced. These contracts indicate the annual production volumes, they may differ every year. Next year, if all the companies in Kazakhstan produced in compliance with contract liabilities, they would produce more than 27 000 tons. In 2018 we plan to produce about 23 000 tons,” he said at the briefing.
As it was reported, Kazatomprom is going to lower uranium production in 2018-2020.
“Kazatomprom announced its intention to lower uranium production by 20% planned under the subsoil use contracts, and balance the level of production with the level of demand,” the company reported in early December.
“The cut down will be extended for three years since January 2018. It will result in production cut by 4000 tons in 2018, that makes about 7.5% of the forecasted UxC in the world uranium production in 2018, and totally by 11 000 tons in a three year period,” said the company.
