Interpol Removed Mukhtar Ablyazov From List Of Wanted People

Interpol has excluded Mukhtar Ablyazov, ex head of BTA Bank, from the international list of wanted people, reports Agence France-Presse with a reference to the informed sources.

According to the statement so called “red notification” has been cancelled.

As it was reported, the case against M. Ablyazov was opened in 2009, then the banker escaped from Kazakhstan. He was put on the international wanted list by Interpol. He was arrested in France in July 2013, Russia and Ukraine were requesting his extradition. As a result Russia got the priority on the request. The defenders of M. Ablyazov sent a claim to the state council of France which cancelled his extradition.

On June 7 the specialized court on criminal cases of Almaty sentenced M. Ablyazov 20 year imprisonment with 300 MCI fine, he was deprived of the right to work in bank organizations, his house in Almaty, a Nissan car and personal accounts in BTA bank were confiscated.
