Kazatomprom And Uranium One Signed A Memorandum On Cooperation In The Automation Of Industrial Processes

Kazatomprom plans to produce 23 000 tons of uranium in 2018
JSC National Atomic Company ‘Kazatomprom’ and JSC ‘Uranium One Group’ (part of the State Atomic Corporation Rosatom’s international mining division Uranium One) signed a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the automation of industrial processes at joint Kazakh-Russian uranium mining enterprises at the International Specialized Exposition Astana EXPO-2017.
Kazatomprom and Uranium One expressed their mutual interest in the development and implementation of a unified approach to the automation of industrial, financial and management processes, and the implementation of the latest digital technologies in geological surveys and mining development operations.
Kazatomprom and Uranium One strategic partnership on developing digital technologies is aimed at increasing the operational efficiency and automation of joint uranium mining enterprises. The partner companies have many years of successful experience in conducting geological surveys and operating uranium mines. There are five joint enterprises operating in Kazakhstan – Karatau, Akbastau, Zarechnoye, YuGKhK (Southern Mining Chemical Company) and Horasan-U. The uranium mining is conducted via a progressive and environmentally friendly method of in-situ recovery.
