The book “Transformation of the Economy of Kazakhstan” is a collection of articles by leading experts from Kazakhstan and publications of German authors, who gathered information about Kazakhstan during their work in the country and, based on their observations, make recommendations for further strategic development. It should be noted that although some of the authors’ recommendations differ from each other, many positions still coincide. “The ideas reflected in the book are based on the general belief of the authors that Kazakhstan should have an individual path of development,” writes one of the authors, Thomas Helm.
Great emphasis is put on the strategy of cooperation, as well as on considerations of the main economic sectors of the republic, describing their development, key challenges, and a variety of ideas and recommendations for the process of transformation already underway. In addition to economic transformations, the authors focus their audience’s attention on political reforms.
