Azerbaijan Ready To Attract Kazakh And Turkmen Oil To Fill Baku-supsa And Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipelines

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. CJSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company has announced plans on filling-in of the Baku-Supsa and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipelines. At the II SOCAR International Forum Farhad Guliyev, ACSC Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors for strategic development, has stated that according to forecasts up to 2025 it is expected a relative reduction in oil production in Azerbaijan. "The capacity of the two pipelines is 57.4 million tons a year. And against the background of the projected decline there is potential of filling of pipeline capacity due to oil from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, where according to forecasts it is expected an increase of its production,” Guliyev said. He added that this situation creates good prospects for the development of the tanker fleet of the Caspian Shipping Company and the construction of larger tankers.
