Kazakhstan will modernize all the checkpoints at the border with Kyrgyzstan until the end of the year, said Kairat Telenchinov, advisor of Kazakhstani ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.

“Until the end of the year Kazakhstan will modernize all the checkpoints on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan has developed a project of the checkpoints modernization in Zhambyl region. 2.2 bn tenge are planned for the project performance,” he said.

“Korday-Ak-Zhol checkpoint will be modernized since March until December. Besides that the nearby territory will be developed, a parking lot may be constructed,” he added.

The parties plan to sign an agreement about construction resumption of unfinished bridge over the Chu river at Karasu-Ak-Tilek checkpoint. The checkpoint will be repaired, walkways and crosswalks will be created.
