Kazakhstan - China Flight Frequencies To Increase In 2017

Jenis Kasymbek, Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, met with the Minister of Transport of China Li Xiaopeng during his working visit to China on February 27, 2017, aKazinform reporter in Chinainformed.

“We had a very good constructive dialogue. Currently, cooperation between the two countries goes into the comprehensive strategic partnership plane. This year, we plan to launch new joint ventures in such sectors, as industry, transport, as well as to start constructing new projects in various sectors of the economy. We want to make the most to realize our Eurasian transit potential in the transport sector”, Mr. Kasymbek wrote on his Facebook page.

He noted that according to expert estimates the volume of trade in the region will reach 1.2 trillion dollars by 2020. At the same time, trade between China and the European Union will reach 800 bln. dollars, while the volume of freight traffic will increase to 170 mln. metric tons.

He said that Kazakhstan and China plan to actively cooperate in the civil aviation sector.

“This year, the number of Almaty – Beijing flights will be increased from five to seven per week, and the number of Astana – Beijing flights – from two to four per week. Astana – Urumqi and Almaty – Urumqi flights will receive additional frequencies”, Mr. Kasymbek summed up.
