Russian Railways Willing To Extend Discount Rate For Shipping Tajik Agricultural Products
Russian Railways (RZD) (MOEX: RZHD) is willing to extend discount rates for shipping agricultural products from Tajikistan, President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference following talks with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov, Interfax reported.
“We also see good prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture. Russia is interested in increasing supplies of agricultural products from Tajikistan. In order to help Tajik producers to deliver food to Russia, Russian Railways last year set and is willing to continue setting a discount rate for shipping agricultural products,” Putin said.
He said that “in the course of the current negotiations, priority attention was devoted to the expansion of trade and economic partnership.”
“Russia occupies first place among Tajikistan’s foreign trade partners. Our country almost completely covers the country’s needs in oil products,” Putin said.
