Kazakhstan Sees Lower Grain Crop This Year

ASTANA, Feb 2 (Reuters) – Kazakhstan’s grain exports stood at 5.009 million tonnes as of Jan. 31, down from 5.097 million a year earlier, the agriculture ministry said on Thursday.

Kazakhstan, whose grain marketing year runs from July 1 until June 30, plans to boost exports to 9.0 million tonnes this season from 8.4 million tonnes in the 2015/2016 season. (Reporting by Raushan Nurshayeva; Writing by Olzhas Auyezov; Editing by Christian Schmollinger)
