Russia To Supply One Million Tons Of Duty Free Petroleum To Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan can receive up to one million tons of petroleum per year from Russia during the period of modernization of petroleum processing plants in Kazakhstan, reports RIA Novosti citing Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Kirill Molodtsov.
“If they [Kazakhstan] will complete modernization, and I think they will do so at the end of 2018 or in 2019, their internal market needs will be fully met. Meanwhile we will have to meet their needs amounting to 1 million tons of petroleum per year It is the size that can go through duty-free from us,” said Molodtsov.
According to him, modernizations at oil refineries in Pavlodar and Shymkent are not yet finished. “They have their own gas, that goes through our swaps, that we supply to Pavlodar They would only welcome additional supply of petroleum for processing,” highlighted Molodtsov.
Deputy minister noted that Russia will pay more attention to relations with Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia as markets within EAEU in 2017.
