Kazakhstan Aviation Market: Growth Slows & Competition Intensifies As Air Astana Prepares For IPO

The Moscow’s Sheremetievo Airport SVO Awards was established to promote the airport’s best aviation partners.

The Kazakhstan’s flag air carrier, Air Astana, wins the Moscow’s Sheremetievo Airport SVO Awards in “The Best Foreign Airlines – Passengers’ Choice” category for the first time, as voted by subscribers of the airport’s groups in social networks, according to Kazpravda.kz with reference to the Air Company’s Press Service.

The Moscow’s Sheremetievo Airport SVO Awards was established two years ago with the aim of promoting the best aviation partners of this airport for their punctuality, quality of passenger service and success in production activities.

The Moscow’s Sheremetievo International Airportis the best airport in Europe for the quality of service in 2012 and 2013 and the second one in Europe, as a result of 2014 for the ASQ (Airport Service Quality) rating of the Airports Council International (ACI), as well as the Russia’s largest airport servicing regular international flights. According to the authoritative ranking of the British OAG branch agency, Sheremetievo was ranked second in the world in terms of punctuality of flights in the category of medium-volume traffic airports. The air route network of the Moscow’s Sheremetievo is more than 200 destinations.

At the end of 2015, the passenger traffic at Sheremetievo amounted to 31,612,000 individuals. During the Jan-Nov 2016 period, Sheremetievo handled 31,270,000 passengers.
