On the platform of Chamber of businessmen of the Kyzylorda region the meeting of local rice growers and businessmen from Turkey took place, BNews reported.

“The Turkish guests in Kyzylorda have visited the Kazakh research institute of rice of Zhakhayev, have learned about rice grades that grow up on the priaral earth and have got acquainted with agrotechnologies,” the press secretary of Chamber of businessmen of the Kyzylorda region Baldyrgan Mamen said. “And further in Chamber of businessmen the delegation met with heads the rice farms.”

According to Scientific Production Enterprise, as a result the Turkish businessmen stated intentions to find partners among landowners in Kyzylorda. The joint project will look like this: the Turkish side will deliver to the Kyzylorda landowners a batch of seeds, they will be grown by the contracted country farms. Instead of this service partners will redeem all harvest of rice for sending it to Turkey.

“Explained to us that in Turkey the kilogram of rice costs up to one and a half dollars, that is 340-500 tenge,” Mamen told. “Is almost twice more expensive, than at us. That is, it is profitable to import it from Kazakhstan. Also in Turkey there aren’t a lot of areas of agrarian-planned for rice and cost value of cultivation is high.”
