World Petroleum Council to take part in EXPO 2017
The World Petroleum Council has signed an agreement in London to participate in the EXPO 2017. This public organization was founded in 1933. Its structure includes 69 countries, which accounts for 95% of global production and consumption of oil and gas. Since June 2008, KAZENERGY Association presents Kazakhstan in the Council. During the meeting with the Commissioner of EXPO 2017 Rapil Zhoshybayev, the representatives of international organization said that they plan to present innovations in the field of efficient use of hydrocarbons at the exhibition in Astana.
Ulrike VON LONSKI, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS, WPC: We are very impressed with the plans and the preparation Kazakhstan is doing for Expo 2017. We have seen some of the designs and the plans. And we are very impressed with what is going to happen in Astana next year. But that doesn’t mean we stop there. Beyond that we want to bring a lot of experiences and learning from Expo. According to Rapil Zhoshybayev, the pavilion of the World Petroleum Council will be one of the most interesting ones at the exhibition.
Rapil ZHOSHYBAYEV, EXPO 2017 COMMISSIONER: We have signed an agreement with the World Petroleum Council on their participation in our exhibition, the terms of their participation. Activities that they will carry out as part of the Expo were prescribed. Certainly there is great interest from their part. Petroleum Council will hold a big event on presentation of their projects in the field of energy. At the moment, invitations of countries for EXPO 2017 are still ongoing. 105 countries have already officially confirmed their participation in the world exhibition. Five of them already started to arrange their pavilions according to the theme.
