PACE President intends to visit Kazakhstan in March this yearKazakh Ambassador, Head of the Kazakh mission to the European Union (EU) and NATO Eric Utembayev met with elected President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlut Cavusoglu in Strasburg (France). The Kazakh Ambassador handed over a letter of congratulations to M.Cavusoglu from behalf of Kazakh Senate Chairman Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Kazakh Ambassador noted that the level of the Kazakh economy growth, social and political stability of the country allowed our state to become the OSCE chairman. “Being the OSCE chairman Kazakhstan will be able to contribute to settlement of some protracted conflicts and essentially promote of the main priorities – the third basket of the Organization – i.e. observance of human rights and assistance to democratic processes”, E.Utembayev noted.

He stressed the strategic importance of the annual Address of the President to the Nation as a program document of country’s development and briefed on some provisions of the Address.

The PACE President complimented the efficiency of the President’s Address in realization of strategic tasks. He also stressed the topicality of some priorities of the Kazakhstan’s OSCE chairmanship.  

The sides discussed the issues of practical interaction with all structures of the European Council on the basis of new institutional approaches including mechanisms of close cooperation with the main departments of the Organization. 

Holding of the informal summit in Astana with participation of the leaderships of the EU and PACE aimed at discussion of the world political situation was one of the topics of negotiations.

M.Cavusoglu was interested in the idea of the meeting and confirmed his intention to pay official visit to Kazakhstan in March this year.
