New Head Appointed To One Of Biggest Kazakh Refineries

The shareholders of Kazakh Atyrau Refinery elected Galymzhan Amanturlin to the post of the Chairman of the Board, external relations department of the refinery reported.

Atyrau refinery LLP is one of three large oil refineries operating in Kazakhstan. Atyrau Refinery provides heavy crude oil refining services. The company was founded in 1945 and is based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. Atyrau Refinery LLP operates as a subsidiary of joint Stock Company National Company KazMunaiGas.

In 2002-2016 Galymzhan Amanturlin worked in Kazakh National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas where he serves as Head of oil, gas refining, and petrochemicals department, Managing director and General manager for the oil refining and petrochemical projects.

The previous Chairman of the Board of Atyrau refinery is transferred to the post of Director of Modernization Department in KazMunaiGas where he will be responsible for the reconstruction of three oil refineries in Kazakhstan.

New Head Appointed To One Of Biggest Kazakh RefineriesAmanturlin Galymzhan Zhurshibekovich was born in 1956 in Guryev. He started his career in 1973 as a mechanic in the trust “Guryevneftehimstroy.”

Galymzhan Zh.Amanturlin has technical and economic background. He graduated from the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnical Institute and the All-Union Institute of Finance and Economics in Moscow. Ph.d., co-author of 24 scientific and research works in the area of petroleum refining and ecology.

Holder of 3 patents of the Russian Federation in the area of the equipment for the refineries and 1 patent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the area of chemicals for the oil and gas industry. He began his career in 1971, as a worker at Guryevneftehimstroy Trust.

Since 1976 he worked for Atyrau refinery at various working and managerial positions: operator, senior operator, head of unit, deputy director of department, deputy director of production and technical department at the administration office, superintendent, chief technology officer.

From 1994 to 1999 he worked as the Chief Engineer of Atyrau oil refinery.

From 1999 to 2002 he held the position of the President of Atyrau oil refinery.

From 2002 onwards he worked at NC KazMunaiGas JSC structure.

He was awarded with three medals: “Eren Enbegi Ushin (For Valorous Labour)”, “10th Anniversary of Astana”, “20 years of Kazakhstan’s Independence”, and he was repeatedly awarded with diplomas and certificates from the Ministry of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan and NC KazMunaiGas JSC.

In 2014, he was awarded with the Medal of the Ministry of Energy for his contribution to the development of petroleum industry.
