Direct Flights Kazakhstan-Holland To Close In Autumn

An antimonopoly authority initiated administrative proceedings in relation to Air Astana JSC, the Kazakhstan’s flag air carrier, information about this appeared on the official website of the Committee for Natural Monopolies Regulation and Protection of Competition (CNMRPC) under the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of National Economy.

“The antimonopoly authority of Kazakhstan initiated administrative proceedings in relation to Air Astana JSC in connection with the creation of obstacles to officials of the antimonopoly agency conducting the investigation, to access to the premises of the object of investigation”, the message says.

The above-mentioned Committee explained that, on October 7, 2016 Air Astana did not let employees of the antimonopoly authority to enter into its building, as they arrive to conduct an investigation.

Earlier, one reported that this air carrier is under investigation for fixing monopolistically high prices for air tickets. In this regard, since October 5, 2015 one has abolished price regulation of air travel services. After the abolition of price regulation one observes significant increase in air ticket prices by 30 – 40% in average.
