He also informed the Belgian side of Kazakhstan’s strategic partnership with a number of leading countries of the EU and noted Kazakhstan’s readiness to raise the bilateral cooperation with Belgium to a brand new level.

“The year 2010 is special for Belgian diplomacy due to election of ex-Prime Minister of the country Herman Van Rompuy to the post of the first Permanent President of the European Council in accordance with the Lisbon Treaty as well as due to chairmanship of Belgium in the EU Council in H2, 2010”,  Steven Vanackere said in turn. According to the Belgian FM, the visit of Crowned Prince of Belgium Philippe to Kazakhstan scheduled for October 2010 is of great importance for bilateral cooperation development.  He also emphasized importance of organization of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s official visit to Brussels in light of necessity of deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation.
