Kazakhstan Looks For Confirmation Of Raising Prices Collusion For Transit Of Internet To Kyrgyzstan
KazWorld.info – Kazakh authorities are looking for confirmation of collusion between the providers on raising prices for the transit of the Internet to Kyrgyzstan.
According to them, earlier the Kyrgyz Internet providers stated that transit operators of Kazakhstan entered into price collusion against their Kyrgyz partners. Kyrgyzstan considers it unjustified to increase the prices almost twice. State agency of anti-monopoly regulation appealed to the Eurasian Economic Commission with a request to investigate the conflict.
“Internet services for our colleagues from Kyrgyzstan are provided by private companies. This is a market. Now we are finding out if there is any price collusion between the providers,” the Minister of Information and Communications of Kazakhstan Dauren Abaev commented.
“We are now carefully analyzing this issue. This is the market relations, and the state does not interfere in this sphere much. If there is price collusion, we will investigate it. There should be another factor to look at. We get Internet from the Russian Federation, and there is also a market in Russia. There is only such a relationship, and no special factor,” Dauren Abaev noted.
Recall, the representatives of Kazakhtelecom JSC has already stated that they have nothing to do with the situation.
