Kazakhstan National Railway Company To Shipgrain To China, Iran
Kazakhstan Temir Zholy national railway company said it is ready to shipgrain and has transported more than 7 million tons of grain since the beginning of the year.
Since the beginning of the grain harvest campaign 2015-2016, the KTZ has transported more than 12 million tons of grain.
Kazakhstan exportsgrain to Central Asia, MiddleEast and Russia. Grain exports of Kazakhstan to China are increasing. More than 200 thousand tons of grain were exported to China last year, said KTZ President Kanat Alpysbayev.
“We plan to launch a trial rail transport of grain in containers to the Urumchi railway station,” he said.
He added that all necessary conditions for multimodal transport of grain to Iran were created.
“A new grain receiving terminal was built inAktau port allowing to receive 60 thousand tons and having a capacity of 1.5 million tons of grain a year. The company guarantees a stable and uniform rate for graintransportation,” he added.
As of September this year, grain harvest in Kazakhstan is 62% done, KTZ said.
