Kazakh Foreign Minister met with EIB President

OSCE Chairman-in-office, Kazakh Secretary of State – Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev met with President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Philippe Maystadt Monday within the visit to Brussels.
Prospects for investment cooperation, in particular, in the oil and gas field, agriculture and in regard to the implementation of the program on industrialization of Kazakhstan and diversification of its economy were discussed at the meeting. It was stated at the meeting that Kazakhstan has favorable investment climate that is proved by the fact that 80% of investments to Central Asian regions were directed to our country.
In this regard, the bilateral cooperation will be mutually beneficial – the EIB will acquire new market for its investments in Kazakhstan and our country will receive new investment sources.
The EIB President emphasized the importance of economic and political reforms in Kazakhstan as two factors providing favorable consideration of prospects for partnership by the European structures. Besides, he noted that the country is the only country in the region possessing investment rating of international rating agencies that promotes such cooperation as well.
Kazakh Secretary of State invited P.Maystadt to visit Kazakhstan.
