TengizChevroil plans to increase oil production by 12 million tons after 2017TengizChevroil LLP whose oil output hit a record 22.5 million tons in 2009 is planning to boost production. After 2017 oil production will increase by 12 million tons, L.Crain, GPA Deputy General Manager told Kazinform.

According to her, presently the stockholders of the oil company exploring the Tengiz and Korolevskoye deposits in Atyrau region consider several variants of production expansion. After one variant of the Third Generation Project is approved and new facilities are ready, the oil output is planned to be increased by 12 million tons per year. “This will happen after 2017”, Mrs. Crain noted.

In 2010 TengizChevroil plans to produce 23.5 million tons of oil in Atyrau oblast.

TCO completed gas recovery project

Tengizchevroil has completed the implementation of the investment project on gas recovery amounted to USD 258 mln.

The completion of the project let TCO developing Tengiz and Royal Deposits in Atyrau region reduce gas flaring by 95%.

“Due to support of our partners and the Kazakh Government TCO could successfully complete the gas recovery project in time and increase overall production of oil after the launch of the plant of the second generation and soar gas injection facilities”, – Tengizchevroil General Director Todd Levy said.

“Kazakhstan’s content in the project made USD 129 mln. 900 local specialists were engaged into construction works”, – Deputy General Director of TCO Anuarbek Dzhakiyev said.

Over 50 percent of construction works were made by Kazakhstani contracting companies as ‘NSS’ LLP and “Kazkomservice”.
