Kazakhstan negotiates with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and Kuwait Investment Authority


The Kazakh delegation has negotiated with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) in Kuwait City; the press service of the Ministry of Finance informs.

The second session of the Kazakh-Kuwaiti Commission on trade-economic cooperation was been held in the capital of Kuwait on January 17-19, 2010.

The issues of investment cooperation extension between the two states in the fields of agriculture, energy, healthcare, tourism and interaction extension in the legal sphere were discussed at the session. Besides, the projects of bilateral agreements in such spheres like education and science, tourism, social protection, environment protection, culture, which are planned to be signed in the course of a state visit to Kazakhstan of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah IV Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the first half of 2010, were also discussed.

Within the framework of implementation of the State program of the forced industrial-innovation development for 2010-2014 the Kuwaiti investors were represented by the Kazakh investment projects.

The Kazakh delegation was headed by Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Natalya Korzhova, the Kuwaiti delegation – the Deputy Minister of Finance.

The Kazakh delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Environment, Investments Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, KazAgro Holding, SamrukKazyna National Welfare Fund and heads of a number of commercial banks.
