Kazakhstan, Luxembourg discuss bilateral cooperation in economy

Issues regarding further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in certain spheres of economy were on agenda of a meeting of Kazakhstan Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Yerik Utembayev, Minister of Finances of Luxembourg Luc Frieden and Minister of Labor, Employment and Immigration Nicolas Schmit. The parties had a constructive exchange of views on the matter and noted huge potential of Kazakhstan and Luxembourg for enhancement of mutually beneficial partnership.
“Kazakhstan considers Luxembourg as an important and reliable political partner on the European space and international arena”, Y. Utembayev said and noted the countries’ common approaches to many economic problems, international policy and security and “this is called to promote activation of bilateral cooperation in different fields”.
Highlighting efficiency of Kazakhstan’s measures on fighting the current economic crisis, Minister Luc Frieden noted opportunity of deepening partnership in economy despite the territorial difference and level of development of our countries. This can be reached through equal usage of Luxembourg’s financial tools as well as Kazakhstan’s investment inflows.
Welcoming Kazakhstan’s approaches to fighting unemployment, in particular implementation of the Road Map program, Minister of Labor, Employment and Immigration N. Schmit said his Ministry was ready to consider and opportunity of closer interaction in order to achieve more efficient realization of this program. Besides, he expressed support to Kazakhstan’s initiative on simplification of the visa regime with the EU and assured in his all-round assistance in solution of this issue.
Upon completion of the meeting the Kazakh Ambassador said Kazakhstan was keen on attraction of Luxembourg’s scientific-technical potential and participation of the country’s ventures in realization of large “breakthrough” projects on diversification of the Kazakhstan economy and development of scientific, high-technological and export-oriented production in our country.
In turn, the foreign ministers expressed readiness to hold negotiations with the Kazakh experts on entering into agreements and memorandums in various spheres of economy.
