Almaty to host regional oil and gas congress

On May 22-25 Almaty will host a regional oil and gas congress on Prospects of development of oil and gas sector in Central Asia 2009, Kazinform has learnt from the organizers of the event – Terrapinn Holdings Ltd British Company and its representation in Kazakhstan Eurasia Trade Fairs LLP.

The congress will focus of the issues of investment policy, opportunities of access to the deposits, exploration work and transportation of oil and gas reserves to the foreign market. The congress will gather world known investors, oil and gas companies, buyers of energy resources, creators of infrastructure and financial organizations for estimating the opportunities for investing and cooperating in the CA countries and the Caucasus.

This is a strategically important event on development of the programs of financing and investing in oil and gas sector of the Central Asia in the conditions of the current economic crisis. China, Russia, Korea, Japan and the Middle East countries are expected to present their economies. The advisors of the congress are the International Financial Corporation of the World Bank, the Islamic Corporation for the Private Sector Development and the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan.

The congress will allow to know how to become a partner of LUKOIL oil extracting company (Russia), Petro-China oil company, National Development and Reform Commission of China, Korea National Oil Corporation KNOC, Japan Oil, Gas and Metals Corporation JOCMEC, the Islamic Corporation for the Private Sector Development and their investment demands and strategies in the Central Asia and influence of the global crisis on their plans.

The participants of the conference are international, national small and large oil and gas companies, investment banks, consultative and auditing firms, the enterprises specializing in construction of pipelines and supply of equipment and technologies.
