On the threshold of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010 our state pays special attention to the participation of Kazakh representatives as short-term and long-term observers in the OSCE Election Observation Mission. Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Vladimir Foos said it during international election observation training in Astana on Thursday.

He noted that the practice of seminars-trainings and consultations would be continued to improve professionalism of Kazakhstan’s observers. According to him, the international election observation became a constituent part of the election process. “It induces states to observe their obligations in the field of democratic elections, promotes involvement of civil society in the election process and development of international cooperation in this sphere”, Mr. Foos said.
