Czechia to support Kazakhstan during OSCE chairmanshipThe international scientific conference Modern Kazakhstan and “Path to Europe” held yesterday in the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament demonstrated Kazakhstan’s serious intentions regarding the OSCE chairmanship in 2010 and the Czech Republic will support our country on this post. Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies Yan Hamasek and Vice Chairman of the Committee for International Affairs of the Senate of the Czech Parliament Pavel Lebedev have announced it at a meeting with Majilis Speaker Ural Mukhamedzhanov, the press service of the Lower House informs.

The Czech representatives noted huge interest of their country in a broad cooperation with Kazakhstan. The parliamentarians stressed Kazakhstan’s experience in inter-ethnic and inter-faith harmony. According to them, the dialogue of the representatives of different religions and ethnic groups initiated by the Kazakh President is the only way of solution of the current problems of the globe.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan. The participants highlighted that Kazakhstan’s and Czechia’s common task was elimination of the stereotypes in the relations between the West and the East and inter-parliamentary cooperation would help in it.
