Kazakh Ambassador to Austria Yerzhan Kazykhanov has announced it delivering a welcome speech at an international conference entitled “Central Asia on the threshold of the 20th anniversary of independence, development and prospects” at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.

According to the information of the Kazakh Embassy in Vienna, experts from Austria, Germany and Kazakhstan took part in the conference.

The head of the diplomatic mission expressed gratitude to the European partners for support of Kazakhstan’s candidacy for the OSCE chairman post in 2010 and noted that it will promote attraction of potential and instruments of the OSCE for construction of secure, stable and prosperous Central Asia.

Yerzhan Kazykhanov emphasized significance of the ‘European vector’ of the Kazakh foreign policy.

The event’s organizer is the Austrian Oriental Society under the auspices of the Kazakh Embassy in Austria.

European experience of integration useful CA countries – Intl conference in Vienna

Real and multilateral integration processes only can raise CA states’ interrelations to a brand new level and ensure worthy life for all nations of the region. In this context, European experience is of great interest for us. Chief research worker of the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Researches professor Y. Seleikhanov has said delivering a speech at the International Conference on “Central Asia on the threshold of the 20th anniversary of independence, development and prospects” held in the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna November 12.

Experts from Austria, Germany and Kazakhstan gathered for the conference, Kazinform has learnt from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Vienna.

In his report Y. Seleikhanov pointed out those integration processes in CA, which had been initiated by Kazakhstan.

Other participants of the conference noted most urgent issues of internal policy development and foreign policy of the CA countries and discussed the problems faced by the region and their possible ways of solution.

The event allowed its participants to exchange views on the ways and priority directions of the CA development, synthesize European approaches and develop mutually beneficial format of further cooperation of the EU and Ca.

The conference was organized by the Oriental Society of Austria under the support of the Kazakhstan Embassy in Vienna.
