Kazakhstan celebrates Day of People’s Unity


Kazakhstan celebrates Day of People's UnityCitizens of Kazakhstan celebrate one of the main holidays – the Day of People’s Unity of Kazakhstan.

The holiday has been celebrated since 1996 when it was announced by the Decree of President of Kazakhstan. This holiday is the especially symbolic and favorite for the people of Kazakhstan where more than 100 ethnicities live.

This holiday is called to unite people of the country even more.

Celebratory events, theatrical performances, patriotic campaigns, shows, etc. are scheduled to be held all over the country.

Preserving interethnic and interreligious accord is one of the top priorities for Kazakhstan. The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan has been functioning in the country since 1995. The President of the country heads the Assembly.

N. Nazarbayev: It is great honor to serve this nation


Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated citizens of Kazakhstan on the Day of People’s Unity of Kazakhstan.

“I would like to congratulate you on the Day of People’s Unity. The past presidential election demonstrated the power of the unity of the people of Kazakhstan. Thanks to the unity of our multiethnic county, consolidation and stability we have had great results. I already told about the great tasks we have to fulfill. We need to preserve our unity to fulfill those tasks,” N. Nazarbayev said addressing people at the concert at Kazakh Yeli square.

The Head of State thanked Kazakhstanis for their support at the presidential elections.

“I receive thousands of telegrams, letters and congratulations from all over the country, from farmers, teachers and factory workers to law-enforcement agencies. I want to thank every one of you. It is a great honor for me to serve this nation!” the President said.

“I stay committed to this work and I will continue to exert every effort to make Kazakhstan move forward and improve the living standards of the people of this country. I want to make Kazakhstan even more respected and I want all those tasks that we set to be fulfilled for the good of the future generations!” N. Nazarbayev added.
