New opportunities for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Croatia were discussed in Zagreb

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Zagreb jointly with the Dag Hammarskjold University College of International Relations and Diplomacy held a «Round table»devoted to the New Economic Policy of Kazakhstan «Nurly Zhol», as well as discussed the new opportunities for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Croatia.
The conference was attended by former Presidents of the Republic of Croatia Stjepan Mesic and Ivo Josipovic, ex -Minister of Foreign Affairs Budimir Loncar, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as business, academic and public society of Croatia.
During the «Round table» Ambassador Aslan Mussin drew attention of Croatian public to the new economic policy of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev «Nurly Zhol», a strategic program for development of the state, which will be the engine of growth of our economy in the coming years. He emphasized that, within the framework of industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan, 750 enterprises were launched and 75 thousand permanent jobs were created during the last 5 years.
Aslan Mussin informed Croatian audience about the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan and the measures taken by Astana to support and protect foreign investors.
Kazakhstan’s diplomat also noted that the Embassy actively cooperates with government agencies and private companies of Croatia in order to take bilateral relations to the new level. 12 agreements in the field of economy, finance, health care, education and law are being prepared for signing. As an example of the transfer of technology and foreign investments, he noted the agreement reached with 22 Croatian companies on initiating their production in Kazakhstan. The amount of investment opportunities of these companies amounted to around 500 million EUR.
Within «Round table» Ambassador Mussin described 5 institutional reforms proposed by President Nursultan Nazarbayev in response to modern challenges of our state.
Academician Ivo Slaus, in his speech, stressed timeliness of tasks set by the President of Kazakhstan in the «New Economic Policy – Nurly Zhol», which covers all the important areas of the state. He expressed confidence that by successful implementation of «Nurly Zhol» Kazakhstan will achieve high global standards of economic and social development.
Ex-President of Croatia Stjepan Mesic, who often visits Kazakhstan, stated that «Nurly Zhol» is a strategic document that defines great prospects of the development of Kazakhstan. He also called on Croatian companies to actively cooperate with Kazakh businesses since many important large projects are now realized in the Eurasian region and «considering that the Kazakh market remains open to Croatians the chance should not be missed».
The President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic, who participated in OSCE Summit in Astana, emphasized in his speech, that Kazakhstan’s experience in planning further development of the country and the process of forecasting of global and regional trends is valuable for the Croatian government agencies. He also praised the Kazakh society as an example of high tolerance.
