Kazakhstan and Hungary to establish joint financial fundKazakhstan and Hungary will establish a joint financial fund, this has been stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó at Kazakh-Hungarian business forum in Astana.

“Today, we are planning to sign an agreement between the two governments. One of the agreements will provide for establishing a strategic Council. This means that political cooperation will further improve,” said Mr. Szijjártó.

He noted that the second document is related to the creation of a joint financial fund.

“At the first stage the joint fund will attract $20 million from both sides. It will serve as a basis for financial cooperation between companies of the two countries, ” he added.

In addition, according to Mr. Szijjártó, there will be opened a credit line for companies willing to collaborate.

“I have already instructed Eximbank of Hungary to open credit lines for companies willing to cooperate. The credit line of $50 million will operate for cooperation between companies of Kazakhstan and Hungary. I urge Kazakhstani businesses to invest in Hungary. We can offer you very favorable investment packages, cash grants, subsidies for training and creation of jobs, ” stressed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

Following the forum it is planned to ink a number of memoranda of collaboration in oil and gas, trade and finance, medical equipment, training and development of human resources.

Memorandum of cooperation in the field of training and development of human resources will be signed by JSC “KazMunaiGas” and «MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc» company; an intention memo was inked by representatives of JSC “EP” KazMunaiGas”, JSC «MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc», “FIOK” company, LLP “Ural Oil and Gas”, as well as LLP “Zhaikmunaygaz”; a cooperation agreement has been concluded by “Hungarian Fur Trade Organization” and “Kazakhstan fur trade and industry association”.

Kazakhstan considers Hungary an important reference point in Europe, President

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, Kazinform refers to Akorda.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation, as well as relevant aspects of the international agenda.

Kazakh President stressed the historical consanguinity of the people of Kazakhstan and Hungary.

“We consider Hungary a true friend. Our countries have common historical roots and similar ways of development. Hungary is an important reference point in Europe for us,” said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

President of Kazakhstan drew attention to the ongoing dynamics of cooperation between the two states.

“This is not our first meeting. These contracts indicate our desire to strengthen trade and economic relations. We appreciate that Hungary was the first country of the European Union which signed a strategic partnership agreement with Kazakhstan,” said the Head of State.

In turn, Mr. Orbán thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the invitation. He also conveyed the greetings of the Hungarian people.

“Taking into account the difficult situation in the world, we are interested to know your opinion about the prospects for our future cooperation. Kazakhstan can be sure that in the European Union it has a reliable friend in the face of our country. I would like to inform you that in Budapest we have unveiled a new street named in honor of Astana. We believe that our political and cultural contacts are at the proper level,” said the Prime Minister of Hungary.

In addition, Mr. Orbán noted that Nursultan Nazarbayev’s decision to partake in the presidential elections is the cornerstone of stability in Kazakhstan today and in the future. In this regard, the Prime Minister of Hungary on behalf of the Hungarian President wished Nursultan Nazarbayev great success.

Astana-Budapest direct flight to be launched

It is planned to launch direct flight between Astana and Budapest, this has been said by is scheduled to open direct flight between Astana and Budapest, this has been announced by Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán.

“We have agreed to sign an air transport agreement in order to launch a direct flight between the capitals of our states,” said Mr.Orbán.

According to Viktor Orbán, the two countries will focus on cooperation in oil and gas industry. It should be noted that the parties have also agreed to collaborate in mutual rendering of engineering services.

Kazakh and Hungarian companies signed several agreements in Astana

A number of agreements were signed within the Kazakh-Hungarian business forum in Astana today.

In particular, “KazMunaiGaz” national company and “Hungarian Oil and Gas” company signed a memorandum on cooperation, Kazakhstan “KAZNEX INVEST” and Hungarian IPOX Chemicals signed a memorandum on mutual understanding. Besides, the Hungarian Fur Trade Organization and the Kazakhstan fur trade and industry association signed a memorandum on cooperation.

Moreover, the protocol of intent was signed by “Silumin-Vostok” company and VT Veres Kft company. “Skif Trade” and “Fit Food” companies signed a memorandum on mutual understanding. “Aktyubrentgen” JSC and “OT Industries” company signed a memorandum on mutual understanding as well as “Su-Nasosy” and “Vikuv Co.Ltd”.

Kazakh, Hungarian PMs ink memo on strategic council establishment

Today Government House of Astana has held a briefing attended by Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Hungary.

During the event Karim Massimov and Viktor Viktor Orbán have signed a number of memoranda including a document on the establishment of the Kazakh-Hungarian strategic council.

In addition, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Justice of Hungary have concluded an agreement on mutual assistance in criminal matters.

Head of Kazakhstan’s Education and Science Ministry and chairman of the National Economy Ministry of Hungary have inked a memorandum on cooperation in the field of vocational education and training. Preliminary agreement on the terms for establishing a joint fund, to finance agricultural projects, was made between the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary.

Hungary to participate in EXPO-2017 in Astana

Hungary confirmed its participation in EXPO-2017 in Astana.

“We have accepted the invitation to take part in the Astana Economic Forum this May and are going to participate in the EXPO-2017 event as well,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated after the bilateral talks with his Kazakh counterpart Karim Massimov in Astana on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Orbán also emphasized that cooperation in the sphere of culture and education is of paramount importance.

“Many Kazakhstani students study in Budapest. Hopefully, after today’s negotiations the number of students from Kazakhstan will soar. It is fair to say, therefore, that our visit to Kazakhstan has proved to be successful,” he added.

Trade turnover b/w Kazakhstan and Hungary increased by $8 million

Over the last 10 years bilateral trade volume between Kazakhstan and Hungary has increased by $8 million, this was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó at Kazakh-Hungarian business forum in Astana.

“Over the past ten years the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries has increased by $8 million which equals to 63%. At the same time, Hungarian exports to Kazakhstan has grown by 145%,” – said Mr. Szijjártó.

According to Mr. Szijjártó, Hungary intends to increase a number of the Hungarian SMEs willing to invest in the Eastern markets. He noted that in the present time there are about 2.5 – 3 million SMEs competing in foreign markets. The country intends to increase that number to 12 thousand.

In conclusion Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó expressed hope that bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary will make a positive contribution to this work.

Hungary sees Kazakhstan as its major partner in Central Asia, says Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.

“Despite the fact that two-way trade exceeds $200 million, it is still quite low. In other words, there is huge potential for cooperation, because Central Europe is becoming the driving force in Europe and Kazakhstan is the most dynamically developing country in the Central Asian region,” Minister Szijjártó stressed in his opening remarks at the Kazakhstan-Hungary Business Forum in Astana today.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov and his Hungarian counterpart Prime Minister Viktor Orbán are expected to attend the forum later in the day.

Kazakhstan and Hungary will ink a wide range of business contracts and agreements within the framework of the forum.

V. Orban does not see any contradictions between EU and EEU

Prime Minister of Hungary Victory Orban does not see any contradictions between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.

“I can assure you, Mr. Prime Minister Karim Massimov, that we do not see any contradictions between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. We stand for close cooperation between the two Unions. We are looking forward to the moment when Hungary and Kazakhstan will be the members of one common union stretching from Lisbon to Vladivostok,” V. Orban said at the Kazakh-Hungarian business forum in Astana.

He also added that the Government of Hungary would continue its economic cooperation in Kazakhstan in future.

Hungarian PM: We feel at home in Kazakhstan

Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban told that he feels at home in Kazakhstan as opposed to the EU. He told it after the talks in Astana.

“We are always glad to come to Kazakhstan. We are equal in political terms in the European Union, but genealogically we are different. When we go to Brussels we do not have any relatives there. But when we come to Kazakhstan we have close people here. It is a strange feeling for us but it is true. Therefore, Hungarian delegations always come to Kazakhstan with pleasure,” the Prime Minister of Hungary told.

According to him, 6 of 11 members of the Government of Hungary joined him in his trip to Kazakhstan.

“Cooperation between our countries goes far beyond the simple formality. When the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov visited Hungary it served as a new impetus for development of the relations between the countries. The visit also strengthened the friendship between Hungary and Kazakhstan. We are glad that our countries enjoy such relations,” he added.

V. Orban also expressed his opinion that Kazakhstan was one of the rapidly developing countries of the world. “Kazakhstan has developed immensely over the recent 20 years. This is another reason for us to develop deep cooperation with Kazakhstan,” Mr. Orban concluded.

Kazakhstan and Hungary ready to sign agreement on new visa regime – V. Orban

Kazakhstan and Hungary are ready to sign an agreement on a new visa regime, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban informed.

“I would like to inform all of you that I have had the talks with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. We have decided to sign an agreement on a new visa regime. The President of Kazakhstan agreed that Kazakhstan can introduce a visa-free regime with Hungary. Hungary, in turn, will try to simplify the access for Kazakhstani citizens within the Schengen Agreement,” V. Orban told at the business forum in Astana.

“We have also come to an agreement on signing of documents regarding aviation which is a necessary condition for launching flights between the biggest cities of Kazakhstan and Hungary. We have established a joint capitalization fund totaling 40 million US dollars. It is called to help to develop relations between Kazakhstani and Hungarian business communities,” he added.
