Almaty hosts exhibition dedicated to 550th anniversary of Kazakh khanate

An exhibition dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh khanate has kicked off in Almaty city today.
Held at the Gylym Ordasy research library, it showcases rare historical records dating back to XVIII-XIX centuries, including genealogical trees of khans (local rulers), a collection of Rashid-Ad-Din chronicles translated from the Persian language, a copy of Abylai khan’s letter to Governor of the Tobol province of the Russian Empire D. Chicherin and many more.
“Our library collection prides on having truly unique books and manuscripts. For instance, the collections of pre-revolutionary Kazakh literature, the publications of the Russian scientists who studied the history, archeology and ethnography of the Kazakh land”, general director of “Gylym Ordasy” Republican state enterprise Roza Karibzhanova noted.
According to her, the library stock numbers 91,000 rare books, 22,000 manuscripts and nearly 10,000 books of Eastern literature. The most interesting items related to the establishment of the Kazakh statehood are exhibited at the event.
“This year is special for Kazakhstan, since the country celebrates several historical milestones and the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh khanate is the most important one. Exhibitions like this give us a unique opportunity to touch the history, see rare original documents and manuscripts”, Director of the Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies, Professor Absattar Derbisali added.

Almaty to host int’l MMA championships dedicated to 550th anniversary of Kazakh khanate

April 4 Sports Palace named after Baluan Sholak will host an international mixed martial arts championships dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate.
The event is organized by world MMA KUNLUN FIGHT and ALEM PROMOTION company with the support of Akimat.
The competition called “KUNLUN FIGHT 2 CAGE SERIES” will be participated by athletes from Brazil, Europe, USA, Korea and China. There will be held nine bouts including one superfight (Askar Umbetov vs Kyle Rozewski of the U.S., weight category 66 kg) and two major battles (Kazybek Ashimov vs Jeong Wonseok of Korea, weight category 57 kg and Beibit Nazarov against Bruno Robinho of Brazil, weight category 70 kg) for KUNLUN FIGHT world champion title under version.
ALEM FIGHTERS professional sports club fighters will represent Kazakhstan. It should be noted that the club’s founder is Ardak Nazarov.
It is expected that the event will be attended by Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Minister of Sports and Culture, Mayor of Almaty city Akhmetzhan Yessimov, famous theater and film actor Asanali Ashimov, Olympic champions Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov and Yermakhan Ibraimov.
