Kazakh Ombudsman meets with int’l experts on human rights

Kazakh Human Rights Commissioner Askar Shakirov has met with the international experts who arrived in Kazakhstan to take part in the conference “Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the OSCE: challenges and opportunities”; the Ombudsman’s press service told Kazinform.
A. Shakirov told the guests about the main directions of the national institute for human rights, experience of interaction between the state bodies and civil sector in implementation of international human rights documents, law-making activity and promotion of legal knowledge.
The experts took an interest in the Kazakhstan’s activities on preparation for chairmanship in the OSCE set forth in the program “Path to Europe” and the Concept of Legal Policy of Kazakhstan for 2010-2020 approved by the Head of the State.
The sides noted that the improvement of legislation and human rights sphere promotes Kazakhstan’s reforms within the framework of an oncoming honorable and responsible mission.
