Kazakhstani speed skater hauls bronze at World Championship

Kazakhstani speed skater Fedyor Mezentsev has collected bronze at the 2nd World Speed Skating Championship among students in Almaty city today, Kazinform has learnt from Vesti.kz.
Mezentsev came third in the Men’s 1000m race at the Medeu skating rink. Italian athlete clinched gold by edging a speed skater from Poland who eventually got silver.
The 2nd World Speed Skating Championship that brought together athletes from 13 countries kicked off in Almaty on December 18. On Day 1 Team Kazakhstan failed to haul any medals.

Kazakh athlete wins ‘bronze’ at Spain Kyokushin Karate championship

Kazakh athlete Olzhas Dauletkhan has won the bronze medal at the XXXVI Open Spain Kyokushin Karate national championship.
In the first round, he faced a representative of the strongest club in Spain “Satori” Victor Vigo Torres. In the second round the Kazakh athlete had to fight with the 2012 champion of Spain Arturo Perez. The third contender was the champion of Oyama Cup 2014.

Kazakh sportsmen grab 8 gold at Asia Karate-do Championship in Singapore

Kyzylorda sportsmen swept three gold and two bronze medals at the Asia Pacific Shitoryu Karate Championship held in Singapore, our correspondent reports referring to the press service of the regional physical education and sport department.
The national team of Kazakhstan won eight gold medals, five silver and 18 bronze medals overall to take the third place. The championship brought together sportsmen from 18 countries.

Kazakhstan ends the year at 139th spot in FIFA ranking

National football team of Kazakhstan will end this year at the 139th spot in the FIFA ranking, according to Vesti.kz.
It is worth mentioning that Team Kazakhstan was ranked 128th early in the year.
Yuri Krasnozhan’s side played eight matches this year against such countries as Latvia (0:0), the Netherlands (1:3), the Czech Republic (2:4) and Turkey (1:3).
World Cup winner Germany dominates the FIFA ranking with 1725 points. It is followed by Argentina (1538 points) and Columbia (1450 points).
