This will be the world premiere of his works with the legendary London Symphony Orchestra and world famous virtuoso violinist Marat Bisengaliyev, described by The Times as a “brilliant violin soloist”. The style of the Kazakh violinist was compared to the hallmark of violin virtuosity “only now coming back into favour after several decades in the shadow of a more drily rational style” by The New York Times.
In addition to several new Shakeyev’s works, the concert will serve as a presentation of the album Inception, a joint project of Yerkesh Shakeyev and Marat Bisengaliyev.
A collection of neoclassical works for grand symphony orchestra and solo violin, the album was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra between May and July 2014 at the well-known Abbey Road Studios and AirStudios, as well as the studio of Charles Jenkins. The record was produced by one of the leading producers of Decca Classics – Alexander Van Ingen.
According to the organizers of the concert in London, the event is a combination of several famous brands of music.
“The chief conductor of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra Lior Shambadal, Marat Bisengaliyev’s friend, is also expected to participate,” the organizers said.
Shakeyev noted that the cathedral has an excellent acoustics and can accommodate 250 people. The concert will be streamed live, so that may more people all over the world can enjoy it.
“This is a collective work. But at the moment we are promoting the brand – Yerkesh Shakeyev, later we will release Marat Bisengaliyev’s album. I have other plans too: I want to give a guitar concert in spring. It is hard to stay in one genre for a long time (…) I would also like to record a jazz album,” the composer said.
