Kazakh and French businessmen to sign agreements worth over $ 530 mlnThe signing of the agreements will take place in the frames of the Kazakh-French business forum.

15 agreements worth $ 530 mln will be signed by the Kazakh and French companies, Kazpravda.kz reports. Astana is hosting a business forum with participation of business circles of the two countries.

“Today, Kazakhstan has more than 100 large French companies operating in oil and gas areas, nuclear power, food, construction industry, transport industry and service sector. The French entrepreneurs have become more involved in joint projects, opening new opportunities for themselves. Together with the French partners we assemble helicopters, electric engines, electronics, produce titanium ingots, cement, develop technology. In near future we plan to produce satellites, fuel for nuclear reactors, solar panels and many more,” – said Vice-Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Yerlan Sagadiyev at the opening of the forum.

He briefed about the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan. According to the ministry, since 2005, Kazakhstan has attracted about $ 200 billion of direct foreign investment.

Recall that the Kazakh-French business forum is taking place in the frames of the state visit of President Francois Hollande in Kazakhstan. The delegation consists of the heads of corporations such as Veolia, Total, EDF, Airbus Helicopters and others.

In the first 9 months of 2014 the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $ 4.7 billion. Our country exports oil, metals and chemical products, and imports French industrial equipment, medicines, cosmetics, cars, food, aircraft and spacecraft.

Direct investment of France to Kazakhstan’s economy over the last 9 years reached about $ 10.8 billion.

Peugeot to assemble vehicles in Kazakhstan

French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroën and AllurGroup signed an agreement to assemble vehicles in in Kazakhstan, Peugeot said in a statement.

Vehicle assembly will be organised at the SaryarkaAvtoProm plant in Kostanay, owned by AllurGroup. The first model to roll of the line in September 2016 will be a Peugeot 301, the brand`s best-selling car today in Kazakhstan.

From 2017, average production volume will be around 12,000 units per year with a possibility to extend up to 17,000.

PSA Peugeot Citroën and AllurGroup began cooperating in 2013 to produce and distribute Peugeot vehicles in Kazakhstan. In September 2013, AllurGroup subsidiary ArgomashHolding began turning out four Peugeot models – the Peugeot 301, 3008, 508 and Partner – at its SKD plant in Kostanay.

PSA Peugeot Citroën sold 2.8 million vehicles worldwide in 2013, of which 42% outside Europe.

Kazakhstan, France to cooperate in field of supplies to refineries


The Kazakh KazMunaiGas – Processing and Marketing company (KMG PM) and the French Air Liquide company signed a memorandum of understanding in field of implementation of a joint project, KMG PM said.

The memorandum was signed within the framework of the business forum during the state visit of French President Francois Hollande to Kazakhstan, KMG PM said.

“According to the memorandum, the two sides will work to align conditions of the joint implementation of the project of production and supply of industrial gases for the needs of refineries of Kazakhstan,” the message said.

It is planned that the perimeter of the project will include the rigs for the production of industrial gases at all three Kazakh refineries and measures to improve the efficiency of production of industrial gases, KMG PM said.

It is also planned to establish a joint venture between KazMunaiGas – Processing and Marketing and Air Liquide in future, said the message.

“We are interested in cooperation with Air Liquide company, in the use of its experience and technologies in the production of industrial gases for the refineries,” said the General Director of KazMunaiGas – Processing and Marketing Daniyar Tiyesov. “The signed memorandum of understanding confirms the readiness of our companies to make every effort for the implementation of the joint project, which carries both technical and economic benefits for our refineries.”

The KazMunaiGas – Processing and Marketing JSC is a 100-percent subsidiary of the Kazakh national company KazMunaiGas, Kazinform refers to trend.az.

The company owns shares in the Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP (99.53 percent), PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP (49.7 percent), Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant LLP (100 percent), KazMunaiGas Onіmderі LLP (100 percent), Caspi Bitum JV (50 percent), and others.

The main activities of the KazMunaiGas – Processing and Marketing JSC include management of oil refining assets, export of oil and oil products, and the development of retail sales of petroleum products.
