Kazakhstan is ranked first among the CIS countries on the global index of optimism, reports Kazpravda.kz referring to the president of the Center of Sociological Studies “Russian public opinion and market research” Andrei Milekhin. He stated this at the Astana sociological forum dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Kazakhstan society is more consolidated, more confident compared to other countries, and if we look at the index of optimism, we will see that Kazakhstan is among leaders, while Ukraine is among outsiders and Russia is in the middle of the list,” – he said.
According to him, the study was conducted (several times a year) through the survey, which involved 90% of the population from 60 to 80 countries.
“The basis of optimism index is the willingness of people to believe in a bright future and, above all, their answer to the question “Do you believe that you and your children will live tomorrow better than today? “- He explained.
The forum was attended by over 250 people among whom were public figures, representatives of social and humanitarian sciences, social scientists from all regions of Kazakhstan, students, undergraduates and PhD candidates.
Note that the science of sociology was included in the system of government, practically from the early years of Kazakhstan’s independence.
In 2002, Kazakhstani sociologists united in a single association, which became the authoritative professional community. The Association of Sociologists of Kazakhstan is a member of the International Sociological Association and currently chairs the Union of sociologists of Turkic states.
