EU countries invested in Kazakhstan’s economy $ 95bn over last 10 yrs

More than 50,000 foreign companies are working in Kazakhstan.
The amount of foreign direct investment in the processing industry of Kazakhstan made $ 95 billion in the last 10 years, Kazpravda.kz reports, referring to the Kaznex Invest deputy chair Asel Ergazieva.
“In the processing industry in Kazakhstan about 130 investment projects have been implemented worth $ 21 billion. Another 70 projects the sum of $ 36 billion are slated. From 2005 to the first half of 2014, the EU made investments worth 95 billion dollars, US and China – $19 billion and 11.8 billion respectively. In Kazakhstan, more than 50 000 large companies are represented: making helicopters, locomotives, in nuclear industry, food industry, construction of petrochemical complex, auto engineering, “- she told a briefing in the CCS.
According to Kaisar Zhumabayuly- the press secretary of the Investment and Development Minister- over the past 4.5 years the structure of direct investment in Kazakhstan has changed, compared to previous years.
“The proportion of investment in insurance and financial spheres decreased 22%, whereas in manufacturing it increased by almost 153%. We have attracted $15.4 billion against $ 6 billion, which was before the launch of the industrialization program,” – he said.
