Kazakhstani team successful at Asian GamesKazakhstani team competing in the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea has shown better results than at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

Kazakhstani sportsmen won 20 gold medals so far, which is 2 medals more than four years ago.

Olympic champion Olga Rypakova brought the 20th gold after winning Women’s Triple Jump. Rypakova’s best result was 14 meters and 32 centimeters. Uzbekisatni Alexandra Kotlyarova followed her with 14.05 and another Kazakhsani athlete Irina Ektova jumped 13.77 landing on the third place with a bronze.

Earlier, a wrestler Nurmakhan Tynaliev brought another gold winning Men’s Greco-Roman 130 kg. Tynaliev won over his opponets from Uzbekistan, Iran and Kyrgzystan on his way to the gold medal. In the final, the Kazakh wrestler won over South Korean wrestler Yongmin Kim 3:0.

Kazakhstan retains its 4th place overall that was set as the goal for the team prior to the Asian Games. Earlier, in 2010, Kazakhstan was in the 5th place.

As for silver and bronze medals, Kazakhstani sportsmen have not reached the same amount they won in Guangzhou. At the moment, Kazakhstan has 17 silver and 28 bronze medals. While four years ago, Kazakhstani sportsmen had 23 silver and 38 bronze.

The Asian Games conclude on October 4.

Kazakhstani hauls taekwondo bronze at Asian Games

Kazakhstani taekwondo practitioner Kairat Sarymsakov has won bronze at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, Kazinform has learned from Sports.kz.

Sarymsakov was outclassed by Iranian champ Behnam Asbaghikhanghah in Men’s 68kg semifinal bout. The Iranian athlete will compete for gold against Chinese Jiannan Huang in the final of the Asian Games.

So far Kazakhstan has earned 67 medals at the Asiad in Incheon.

Asian Games: Kazakhstani rugby players beat Hong Kong, grab bronze

Kazakhstani national rugby team have devastated Hong Kong to win bronze at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea today, Kazinform has learned from Sports.kz.

Team Kazakhstan outplayed Hong Kong 12:0 in Women’s Bronze Medal Match.

Thus, rugby players added the 69th medal to Kazakhstan’s medal tally.

Rinat Sagandykov wins karate silver at Asian Games

Kazakhstani karateka Rinat Sagandykov has clinched silver at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea today, Kazinform has learned from Sports.kz.

In the final bout Sagandykov lost to Hiroto Shinohara of Japan 2:3 in Men’s 67kg category.

This is the 18th silver medal for Kazakhstan at the Asiad.

Kazakh athletes snatched gold, bronze in triple jump at Asian Games

The 2012 London Olympics medalist Olga Rypakova has once again surprised her fans by winning another golden medal, this time at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea on October 1, Kazinform has learned from Vesti.kz.

Rypakova was the best in Women’s Triple Jump Final at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. Aleksandra Kotlyarova from Uzbekistan collected silver. Another Kazakhstani athlete Irina Ektova hauled bronze.

Almat Kebispayev from Kazakhstan wins bronze in greco-roman wrestling at Asian Games

Kazakhstani wrestler Almat Kebispayev has won a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Incheon, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

Kebispayev took the third place in the Men’s Greco-Roman 59 kg category after winning over Ahmadjon Mahmudov from Uzbekistan in the semifinals. Japan’s Kohei Hasegawa got the gold after his victory over North Korean wrestler Wonchol Yun.

Boxer Marina Volnova brought another bronze to Kazakhstan in women’s -75kg weight category. In the semifinals she was defeated by Unhui Jang from North Korea.

Kazakhstan has 15 gold, 16 silver and 24 bronze medals and retains its 4th place in the ranking.
