Kazakhstan ranks 4th in medal standings of the Asian GamesKazakhstan team has climbed from sixth to fourth place in the overall medal standings of the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea, vesti.kz informs.

Thus, over the four days of the competition, Kazakhstan athletes have won 18 medals including 4 gold, 4 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

September 23 gold medals were grabbed by the women’s team on shotgun: Anastasia Davydova, Maria Dmitrienko, Oksana Sereda and swimmer Dmitry Balandin. Silver medals were won by the men’s team on judo and by the swimmer Katerina Rudenko, and bronze medals went to the fencer team of Kazakhstan (Tamara Pochekutova, Tatyana Prikhodko, Diana Pamanshi and Julia Zhivitsa), tennis players including Yaroslava Shvedova, Yulia Putintseva, Kamila Kerimbayeva, synchronized swimmers – Katerina Nemich, Alexandra Nemich Amina Ermahanova, Ajgerim Anarbayev Christina Tynybaeva, Alina Matkova, Xenia Kachurina, Julia Kempel, Danya Talgatova, Aisulu Nauryzbayeva, epee fencers – Almir Alimjanov, Dmitry Alexanin, Dmitry Gryaznov, Ruslan Kurbanov, ) wushu -sanda sportsman – Nursultan Tursunkulov.

China leads in the medal standings with 40 gold, 21 silver and 20 bronze medals. Followed by the team from South Korea (18-19-21) and Japan (16-22-22).

Kazakhstani men’s rowing team won bronze medal at the Asian Games

For Kazakhstan it is the 3rd medal at the Asian Games in this sport.

Four athletes from Kazakhstan won the 3rd place in Asian competitions in rowing, which take place in Incheon, reports special correspondent of the newspaper “Kazakhstanskaya pravda”.

The bronze medals in rowing were won by Vitaly Vasiliev, Mikhail Taskin, Yevgeny Vasilyev and Vladislav Yakovlev. Chinese racing crew won gold and South Korean athletes –silver medal.   Thereby the national team won three medals at the Asian Games for the day. Earlier Svetlana Hermanovitch and Marina Vasilieva won silver medals in the women’s pair-oar rowing.

The third in double-sculling were Kazakhstani athletes Katerina Artemieva and Victoria Chepiko.

Asian Games: Kazakhstan secures bronze in water polo

Kazakhstani women’s water polo team have collected bronze at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea today, Kazinform has learned from Sports.kz.

Aleksandra Zharkova, Nataliya Shepelina, Aizhan Akylbayeva, Anna Turova, Kamila Zakirova, Anastasiya Mirshina, Zamira Myrzabekova, Oksana Saichuk, Assel Zhakayeva, Marina Gritsenko, Nataliya Aleksandrova, Aruzhan Yegemberdiyeva and Kristina Krasikova represented Kazakhstan at the women’s water polo event.

Team Japan devastated the Singaporean water polo players 25:2 to take home gold medals.

Kazakhstan wins silver in wushu sanda at 2014 Asian Games

Kazakhstani wushu sanda practitioner Rishat Livensho has clinched silver in men’s 65kg category at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, Kazinform has learned from Sports.kz.

In the final match of the 2014 Asian Games, Livensho was outclassed by Iranian athlete Mohsen Mohammadseifi 0:2.

Kazakhstani tennis players win gold at Asian Games

Kazakhstani swimmer hauls second gold at Asian Games

Swimmer Dmitriy Balandin has stunned his fans in Kazakhstan once again after securing the second gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea today, Kazinform has learned from Sports.kz.

This time, Balandin won gold in 100m breaststroke race.

As reported earlier, he clinched his first gold in 200m breaststroke race at the Asian Games.
