Germany is ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan in construction of transport terminalsHamburg hosted the Day of Kazakhstan’s economy.

Hamburg hosted the Day of Kazakhstan’s economy “Opportunities and prospects of Kazakh-German cooperation in transport and logistics area” with participation of over 150 representatives of official, economic, business and expert circles of the two countries.

Kazakhstan urged the German partners to cooperate in transport and logistics area, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

Kazakhstan Ambassador to Germany Bolat Nusupov stressed that due to the favorable geographic location, Kazakhstan has a large transport and transit potential between East and West, North and South, and informed about the benefits of the acting trans-Kazakhstan routes. In this regard, the Kazakh diplomat urged the German partners to fulfill promising projects for development of transit-transport potential of Kazakhstan and form a joint logistics base in the German ports.

Chairman of the association for economic cooperation with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe Markus Felzner said that Kazakhstan is an important strategic partner of Germany in Central Asia. Its share in the total turnover of Germany with the countries of the region reaches 85%. German business community welcomes the measures of the Government of Kazakhstan for development of transport and logistics potential of the country and is ready to take active part in this process, he went on.

“Felzner said that Germany is ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan in construction of the Kazakh transport and logistics terminals in its ports at the North and Baltic Seas,” – stated in a press release.

Also as part of the Day of the economy, a panel discussion was held with participation of the Federal Association of Logistics, the Hamburg Society for promotion of economy, the German railway company Deutsche Bahn, Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock company, transport and logistics companies Brockmüller Spedition and Kühne + Nagel.

The parties confirmed their intention to intensify cooperation in this direction and launch specific projects.
