Almaty to host ‘Memories of Hiroshima and Nagasaki’ exhibition

On September 10 Almaty will host “Memories of Hiroshima and Nagasaki” exhibition dedicated to the 69th anniversary of one of the worst events in human history – the atomic bombing of Japanese cities, the press service of the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan reported.
People will be able to contemplate a photo stand with evidences of the tragedy and its aftermath, chronicle, documentary films about the atomic bombings and the destruction caused by them, diaries of people who survived in the tragedy and paper cranes, popular in the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima as a symbol of prayer for peace.
The main objective of the exhibition is to tell and show people that nuclear weapon can cause irreparable damage, and to encourage everyone to maintain peace in the world. In addition, a hibakusha – survived victim of the atomic bombing, will make an opening speech at the event.
