Sorbonne Institute Kazakhstan opens doors in AlmatyThe Sorbonne Institute Kazakhstan has opened its doors in Almaty. It will be jointly governed by Paris-Sorbonne University and the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

The institute has enrolled 60 students from all corners of Kazakhstan. Academic programs are offered at the graduate level only in Management of changes in modern world and International dialogue in the conditions of globalization.

“All programs will be taught in the French language. All students went through transparent and rigorous selection process organized by Paris-Sorbonne University and Consulate General of France in Almaty,” president of the newly opened institute Gulmira Nurlikhina said.

“Paris-Sorbonne University has two international campuses in Abu Dhabi and now here in Almaty. We really hope that our institute will become the center of French education for students from Central Asia, Russia and other countries,” consul general of France in Almaty city Patrick Renard said at the unveiling ceremony.

There are plans to offer academic programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as intensive French language programs.
