Oct. 4. MNA
An energy and mining delegation from Kazakhstan’s biggest mining and energy group, Kazakhmys Gold, arrived in Tehran on Saturday to study the investment opportunities in Iran’s copper, gold, oil, and electricity projects, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.
Iranian Commercial Attache to Almaty Hossein Bamiri told IRIB that the Kazakh delegation is here despite all the global propaganda regarding the insecure environment for investment in Iran.
Kazakhmys Gold is affiliated to Kazakhmys PLC., a leading international natural resources group listed in the UK and Kazakhstan, with significant interests in copper, gold, zinc, silver, power generation and petroleum.
It is the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan and one of the top ten worldwide with 20 mines, 10 concentrators and 2 smelters.
The principal activity of Kazakhmys Gold is the mining and processing of gold ore into refined ore within Central Asia.
